More Light Drawing

3rd Graders in Mrs. Gillean's class took a collaborative effort at light drawing like Picasso. They were challenged to work together in their table group to come up with a 4 person drawing design. The results turned out so cool!

Light Drawing!

Mr. H's EI experimented with light drawing in our Art class yesterday. We used the iPad app called Slow Shutter to capture the movement of the students drawing in the air with glow sticks. They have been studying Kandinsky and how he would see colors, lines, and shapes while listening to music. We all listened to several different kinds of music and tried to interpret what it might look like with our movements. What a fun new way to create Art!

Ming Dynasty Chinese Vases with Cherry Blossoms

The second graders have been studying China as part of our school-wide "Art Around the World" unit. They are so excited to finally be finished with their beautiful vases to display before the Chinese New Year. They are bringing a much needed sense of spring to our North Oakview hallways!

Art Inspired by ArtPrize 2014 Winner!

“Intersections,” by Anila Quayyum Agha

This post is long overdue but as I sat in my room this morning with the lights dimmed, I couldn't help but admire the students beautiful designs illuminated on the walls. We created these 3-D cube designs after our trip to the Grand Rapids Art Museum to visit ArtPrize. Students viewed “Intersections,” by Anila Quayyum Agha and then created their own inspired Art. A wonderful display on a cold winters day. =)
