End of the Year

We had such a successful field day this year! Thank you to everyone who helped out and to all the students for being so creative as they stopped into the "Rockin' Art" station.

As we are winding down an awesome Art year, I want to encourage all my North artists to remember to keep practicing! Summer is the perfect time to get out a sketchpad and do some extra drawing. To help get some inspiration and motivation you can use this drawing challenge (or other similar Art challenges found on Pinterest).

Art class will soon be out for the summer,  but it doesn't mean you can't still have some family Art fun. Festival of the Arts is a community celebration in downtown Grand Rapids, featuring arts, entertainment, food and fun activities for the entire family. North Oakview artists will be featured this year in the Youth Art Show that is located at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. You can visit the show festival weekend June 6-8     Friday 10:00am-8:00pm     Saturday 10:00am-8:00pm     Sunday Noon-3:00pm

Your family can also stop into the KDL Plainfield Library this summer to check out how North Oakview Elementary students used literature as inspiration for their Art! North artists will be featured over the break from May- August in the children's library section. The summer Art show is focused on "Summer Reading" and the work selected features Art inspired by children's literature.
